How WBITSA is with INFOGEN Victims
Parents of some of the duped students met us during mid January to 1st week of February.
2. 0rganised effort started from WBITSA from 10th Feb 2009
a) WBITSA leaders Maloy Paul Chowdhury, Krishnendu Chatterjee and Paramita Roy met the affected trainees at INFOGEN office at 4pm.
b) About 200 trainees came to WBITSA's office for planning at 5pm
c) Somenath Bhattacharya WBITSA General Secretary met them on the same day at 7pm
d) WBITSA arranged a meeting with Additional SP. N24POS. at New Town P.S on same day about 8.30m. A two- hour long discussion took place. The victims submitted various documents to the police officials. Addnl SP informed them that the police had already started investigation on the basis of Sandip's (one of the victims) F.I.R

WBITSA arranged a meeting with the state IT minister Dr. Debash Das and a deputation of Infogen trainees put forward their grievances before him. Dr Das gave a patient hearing and advised the boys and girls not only as a MIC but also as a teacher.

WBITSA was able to track Mr. Prasenjit Roy who was the signatory of all the bounced cheques and placed him before the victims and finally handed him over to the IO (BN East P.S)

WBITSA GS discussed the issues of Infogen with the Hon'ble CM of West Bengal. He advised S. Bhattacharya to give him a formal memorandum and assured to look after the issue seriously from the end of his Govt. At the same time he has given all the charges to Dr. Debesh Das to expedite against this fraudulent activity.

About the career of the victims. He advised to gather their CV. Govt. will try to organise a campussing for them.
WBITSA demanded CID enquiry and the MIC agreed.

WBITSA decided regarding the placement of these young educated people to interrogate the placement agencies. There are four agencies. Three from WB and one from Orissa. For the one in Orissa WBITSA mentioned its name to CM's letter, so that he could pursue it at the Govt. level. For the remaining three agencies WBITSA will request them to take responsibility of those boys and girls who got job for Infogen from their concern. If the response is positive then the procedure will be started. If anyone delays his name will be send to MIC, IT to declare it as black listed.

E Jobs India gave a written offer to WBITSA for further placement of the victims from their institution at '0.00' cost. WBITSA hails the gesture of E Jobs offer letter.

Decision was taken for a public meeting to publicise the issue of the INFOGEN victims. Consultation was done with Mr. Soumyabrata Raha,lawyer of Democratic Lawyers Association (DLA) for legal proceeding against INFOGEN Management.

Organized a open meeting in front of Reshmi Building in presence of Mr. Amitava Nandi, (MP), and President WBITSA. Mr. Somnath Bhattacharya, General Secretary, WBITSA, Mr. Maloy Paul Chowdhury, Asst. Secretary, WBITSA, Ms. Paramita Roy, Exe. Member, WBITSA, Mr. Soumyabrata Raha, Member, DLA, Mr. Anupam Das, one of the INFOGEN victim delivered their speeches. The meeting was presided over by Mr. Prashanta Nandi Chowdhury, Working President, WBITSA.
Meeting Demanded:
- Arrest the criminals (INFOGEN Directors) and ensure exemplary punishment
- Confiscate the property of the criminals and pay back the money to the victims
- Government and IT Houses are to extend support to these talented youth to cover their career backlog
- Government should frame proper Recruitment Regulation and check-up in IT Sector
- Introduce 'Single-Button System' to check the mischievous activity in the IT Sector

Mr. Alok Bhattacharya and Mrs. Sruti Ghosh) and INFOGEN victims. It was agreed upon that they also assist for further placements of the Infogen victims.

Long awaited news came when Mrs. Debarchana Mitra Ghosh, The Director of INFOGEN GLOBAL was arrested by CID.

Mrs. Mitra Ghosh was produced to Bidhan Nagar ACJM court by police. The Learned court rejected the bail plea of Mrs. Mitra Ghosh, and allowed for Police Custody up to 9th April 09.Mainly the bail plea was rejected due to strong opposition and arguments made by Learned PP Mr. Anjan NarayanChowdhury. On behalf of WBITSA all matters monitored by Mr. Soumabrata Raha lawyer of DLA.
At the time of proceedings Mr. Somnath Bhattacharya General Secretary, Mr. Maloy Paul Chowdhury Asst. Secretary and other member of WBITSA were present with the affected victims.
The agitated INFOGEN victims along with WBITSA members show their dissention and anger against the accused and demanded their money back as well as stern action and exemplary punishment against the cheater.
